National Doodle Day

In both the UK and the USA there is a National Doodle Day. Celebrities of all kinds come together and create thier own doodles to raise money and awareness for epilepsy and neurofibromatosis (NF). It's quite a cool idea.

I especially liked how different organizations and individuals can get involved even if you aren't quite celebrity status. The part that was of special interest to me was how schools can take part. This is a great idea to do get your school involved in. It gives children a chance to participate in something great and give them a chance to practice thier doodling and realize that anyone can doodle.

You can also do this on the local level. In order to raise money for a town, school, church, etc. you could do this same type of thing. Have some prominent people in the community donate some doodles and auction them off. It is really fun to see what people can come up with. The possibilities are endless.
